How do we go in?
This chapter is called "The Louvre". One could spend a week and not see everything. We saw it in two hours. Thus, we begin our journey
The front door
We have traversed the inside square, and are now approaching the center where people enter.
Quick, a photo
This poor Cajun boy was cold
Juxtaposition
The old and the new
Mona
Ok, what is it about this painting?
Mom & Daughter
Phyllis and Michelle enjoying the beautiful paintings at the Louvre
St. Michael
John likes this painting of the Angel defeating the Demon
Winged victory
This was a much more impressive statue in person
As evening progressed
You can see the wet stones, the darkening sky, and the interesting views
Look! Up in the Sky!
The pyramid is interesting from any angle. Even on my back on the floor.
Paris on a cold and snowy evening
Bridge scene
The painter
Please forgive the blurry photo, but I wanted to show this young painter working on his art, even in this weather.
Mmmm, warm
Our second morning in Paris, we dine at one of the thousands of Boulangerie. One pays a little more when asking for one's food "en place", or at a table, rather than to go. The French sure make their coffee strong.
Musee D'Orsay
This is the one that Phyllis did not want to miss. This museum covers a specific time period of impressionistic and post-impressionistic artists and sculpturers.
Paris from the Musee
I don't know
Another shot
Phyllis really enjoyed her time here
In the background are paintings by Degas and Cezanne.
Isn't that. . .
What is the American Painter's portrait entitled "Arrangement in Gray and Black" doing in the Musee D'Orsay?
Renoir loved a party
What is it with these tourists?
The Beau Bridge
Monet's own
John's favorite
Van Gogh
Vincent loved the night scene. Wait, who is that person? Gaaa, another tourist.
Vincent's room
The title of this painting really is "The room of Van Gogh". But I like the 2nd one better, the one with the Macintoshes.
The Van Gogh
It is really different to see these in person.
