Winter scene
You have to look closely, but there is a pontsettia plant in the window of this apt. house. I enjoyed the contrast of color on this wintry day.

Main drag
This was a pedestrian mall, paved with smooth tile that was a pleasure to walk upon. It must have been two miles long. At non-busy times, people skated, skate-boarded, scootered, bicycled, and even drove down this area (certain vehicles could press a button and the round barriers would drop into the ground, allowing them to enter. The Pizza drivers could do it.

Note the red rose. Michelle fussed because John put it on the table, even though we weren't dining (just having warm drinks).

At L'Entrecote
This photo is blurry, but we are standing in a line to eat at this restaurant michelle had heard about. When we got there, finally, the waitress asked "how would you like your steak cooked?" We hadn't even ordered steak. Then we found out that's all they serve.
|
Our dinner
Yummy rare beef in a vinegar and horseradish sauce. Michelle is holding the bottle that says L'Entrecote, or Dish of Beef.

Our tour guide explains it all. No, not Michelle this time, a guide that spoke both French and English.

Church of Notre Dame English
A different sort of church. Tour guide said it used architecture called anti-nouveau. There were about 10 chapels inside to various saints. Many paintings in frames on the walls.
